Technology Commercialization

Project Description
The Finger Lakes Wired region is working to adopt and implement a technology commercialization process across the university and research and development community that maximizes the economic impact of intellectual property that is created or enhanced in the region.
Talent development efforts are targeted to train qualified managers with the required skills to launch new businesses, raise capital and create new jobs, and ultimately position them to become serial entrepreneurs.

The academic and job readiness training incorporates elements from Tiers I-IV of the Competencies Building Blocks Model.

Outcome from Using the Product

  • Identify the benefit(s) users will derive from replicating the product.
  • Achievement of skills necessary to launch a new business, raise capital and create new jobs; positioning trainees to become serial entrepreneurs.
  • Participants will learn business and commercialization principles, methods and tools used in industry as new product development and research and development management processes, and how to create business plans.
