Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Camp – SEMI High Tech University
Project Description
The SEMI High Tech U program is a three-day summer camp for 16-18 year olds and exposes participants to a MEMS-based science and mathematics curriculum, including exposure to sensors, detecting and measuring devices and machines.
The program emphasizes hands-on activities in statistics and mathematics. Career exploration also occurs via site visits to regional college campuses and visits to local businesses.
Outcome from Using the Product
- Attracts local youth to explore the possibilities linked to schooling and careers in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
- Inspires parents and educators to encourage pursuit of STEM educational choices for young people
- Enhances awareness of the region as a premier locale for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics career opportunities.
