Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Camp – Pre-Collegiate Summer Program - STEM Careers Track
Project Description
This camp program for 16-18 year old high school students explores the breadth of STEM related careers for six weeks.
The program includes coursework in writing, mathematics and science. Youth participate in job shadowing in a STEM related field of their choice and hands-on laboratory activities, as well as career and personal development workshops. Participants are also mentored by college students in STEM majors.
Outcome from Using the Product
- Attracts local youth to explore the possibilities linked to schooling and careers in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
- Inspires parents and educators to encourage pursuit of STEM educational choices for young people
- Enhances awareness of the region as a premier locale for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics career opportunities.
